Lots of Redneck’s, Grizzly’s, AK47 Evo’s and Pikey Paste’s added to stock in shop today.

Just a little progress report on the annual major restock. Floats in progress are all sizes of Redneck (240), Grizzly 0.3 (120), Pikey Pastes (130) and AK 47’S 0.3 and 0.4 (130 of each) which are all finished on paint and varnish and now drying off. Pictured below are around 250 Edge Hogs which are ready to start the finish paint/varnish processes tomorrow. Next up will be any out of stock Diamonds. All my float bodies are produced by me in my workshop using a variety of foams to suit the finished floats purpose. All the floats mentioned here are made from a 200kg/m3 fine celled foam for two reasons. Firstly it is much stronger than the 110IGF (110kg/m3) which seems to be the cheap and cheerful stuff used by the majority of makers (mostly fitted with spring eyes) and secondly being a very fine celled foam it is simply brilliant for fitting side eyes into. This is the reason I use another expensive very fine celled foam in a 70kg/m3 grade for a lot of my silvers/F1 range. In the centre of the four trays of floats in the picture you will see a solitary pinkish bodied float. This is the first of a number of prototypes I am doing to test out another foam I have found which is as fine in cell structure as the 200kg/m3 but even stronger at 240kg/m3 so as you can see I am always striving to improve rather than following the crowd.  

And so the great winter re stock begins.😀 Floats added today – 0.3 and 0.5 Shindigs. 4×18 Blimps. M2 Mudliners. 5×10 Guzzunders. and 0.2 Grizzlys. Back in the workshop almost full time now and will post on here as more floats are completed and back in stock.

YEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeessssssSSSSSSS!! Guzzunder 4×10 now back in stock as are Trystan 0.3. This means that EVERYTHING is at last now back in stock and I might get my first proper day off since late November. Just a few things that are heading towards low stock level to clear up now.😃😃😃😃😂

Both sizes and colours of the Shallow Paste floats are now back in stock.

Grizzly 0.3 and Oliver 0.3 both now back in stock. Working on Shallow Paste’s and Sydney’s which are out of stock.

All Immortals – Zeus (Diamond), Iris (Paste), Ares (Shallow) and Zinky (Margin) are now back in stock in all sizes.

As some of you will know I am always looking for new materials to improve the strength and quality of my floats. After many hours searching I recently took delivery of three “new” samples of foam to evaluate. Two of these I have deemed unsuitable but the third is very promising indeed. Rather than the “one size fits all” strategy used by many I tailor the density/strength of the body materials to suit the intended purpose of the float by utilising four different foams. The strongest of these at the moment is the 200kg/cubic metre foam which is used on my paste and margin floats which is much stronger than the 110kg commonly used by others. The new stuff is 240kg/cubic metre and is very fine in cell structure which makes for a good finish and exceptionally good for holding side eyes. Not had much time to play with it as yet due to being busy replenishing stocks but I can see a couple of very versatile and durable float patterns emerging from the workshop once I have time to finalise the designs and give them a proper field testing.
